The “Young European Cultural Audience Development” (YEAD) is a project carried out by six Western European organisations from the social and cultural sectors, that focuses on promoting cultural creativity among young people and their relationship with European cultural institutions.

The project started in 2015 and will end in 2019 with a closing festival that will take place in Brussels. During these 4 years, professionals in culture were asked to reconsider their relationship with young Europeans to include them within the corresponding institutions in the sector and to encourage them to play a more active role in European culture both as spectators and creators. Young people are invited to define their cultural expectations and needs, by creating short films that explore cultural identity, democracy, and diversity.

The project has been carried out through workshops, seminars and conferences, and its outcome will be published on an online platform that will gather the information of all the activities that have been successfully developed throughout the project.
