The ADESTE+ Lisbon Summer School was held on September 23rd – 27th 2019 at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon!
This first edition of the ADESTE+ Lisbon Summer School was organized, under the umbrella of the ADESTE+ project and with the support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, around a series of 3 events to promote a practical approach to the general conceptual and theoretical framework of audience development.
Professionals and experts in the formulation of national and international policies for the development of audiences in the arts and culture were invited to participate in 5 days of workshops, laboratories and debates around different topics of interest.
On September 24th and 25th, the event counted with the special participation of Mercedes Giovinazzo, Director of Interarts, who contributed the master class ‘The value of the arts. Beyond performance indicators’, and the opening speech ‘How participation won and why it is important’. In her interventions she explored the main issue of the public value of culture and addressed the challenge of demonstrating its impact on the new relationships and narratives of society, as well as on the practices of cultural participation for human development.
The next two events of the ADESTE+ Lisbon Summer School project will take place over the next few years.
