In 2012, Interarts, in collaboration with the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) and the Municipality of Cuenca, held the VIII Euro-American Campus for Cultural Cooperation in Cuenca (Ecuador), with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
The event provided an opportunity to debate issues relevant for the cultural sector. It focused on the fundamental of culture in human development and on the formulation of strategies to support cultural cooperation in the international agenda.
As in previous editions, the Campus underlined the importance of understanding culture as the fourth pillar of sustainable development, alongside its other dimensions (economic, social and environmental) and was an excellent occasion to strengthen relations and consolidate multilateral and institutional links between America and Europe.
To all those interested in these topics, we highly recommend reading the proceedings of the VIII Euro-American Campus for Cultural Cooperation published in the ‘Papeles Iberoamericanos’. All the papers are available in their original language, English, Spanish or Portuguese.
