In the framework of the project “ Dance Innovation Agenda in Lima, Trujillo and Arequipa“, the Dance Innovation Agenda has been published. The project, developed by the National Dance Council of Peru (CNDP) over the Agreement with the Ministry of Production Program, Innóvate Perú, has seen the participation of Interarts Peru as an associated entity.

This project aims to consolidate the dance sector as an essential resource in the cultural context of the country and of the world. In this regard, the Agenda defines a detailed work plan for the next 5 years that allows the sector to innovate on issues of common interest, such as creation processes, management, research, circulation and entrepreneurship. The first part of the document outlines a global view, in order to make a comparison between the dance promotion and development processes, and to analyze the dance sector in Lima, Trujillo and Arequipa, identifying the gaps in the dance sector value chain. In the second part, it sets forth a strategy with initiatives to overcome these gaps, divided into 4 axes: I. Partnerships, articulated and linked to action; II.Institutional recognition and visibility; III.Professional profile of dancers; IV.Performative projects versus performative events; and a proposal for the practical implementation of the Agenda.

The project, which began in 2017 and will end in 2019, carried out a diagnosis of the dance sector to identify the gaps, opportunities and conditions for its own empowerment. Also, to propose the Performative Dance Innovation Agenda in Peru, understood as a work plan for the sector at national level, in the framework of the Bicentennial celebrations.
