As the first phase of the research planned as part of DECIDES Caribbean on domestic violence in two districts in Antigua (St. John and St. Philip) and one in Barbuda (St. Mary), last October training sessions were given to local researchers Amy Hassett and Koren Norton. Dr Rawwida Baksh, the lead researcher, and Alexandrina Wong, the chair of WAR (local project partner), were in charge of giving this training on methodology and tools to use. Baksh and Wong also held meetings with key stakeholders such as government and state officials and a public forum. Dr Baksh obtained gathered relevant information from these activities that will be included in the research proposal soon to be submitted to the Institutional Review Board of Antigua and Barbuda for approval.
