Last June, Interarts took part in the European Development Days (EDD17) that the European Commission held in Brussels, Belgium, to facilitate networking among the main players in international development cooperation. A series of videos were produced for the event of interviews with key people who run the foundation”s main projects. The videos are available on the Interarts YouTube channel and include two on the DECIDES CARIBBEAN project: interviews with Alexandrina Wong, an activist and chair of Women Against Rape (WAR), one of the DECIDES CARIBBEAN partner organisations, in which she talks about the achievements of the Antigua and Barbuda project at the end of its first year; and with Koren Norton, a social worker and researcher on gender issues in Antigua and Barbuda, who explains her experience as a local researcher on the project and outlines future actions in the fight against domestic violence. DECIDES Caribbean, which is co-financed by the European Union, seeks to contribute to reducing domestic violence in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean by encouraging changes in social behaviour and empowering women to tackle this phenomenon. The Interarts team backs the messages of solidarity from around the world and sends its support to all those affected by Hurricane Irma, especially our colleagues in Barbuda.
