As a continuation of the seminar “Culture and Turism in Barcelona” that took place November 2017 in this city, a second working seminar on this same issue was carried out 15 October 2018. During the meeting, Lisbon and Rome was the cities analysed and the report ‘The relationship between Culture and Tourism in Barcelona: current context and challenges’, that includes the themes discussed at the seminar 2017, was presented. The director of Interarts Mercedes Giovinazzo took part of the seminar, which had the objective to identify synergies between tourism and culture with the aim to achieve a sustainable development of the tourism activity. Both seminars were organised by the Cultural Commission of the World Network of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and the Institut de Cultura of Barcelona City Council (ICUB).
