Interarts will be coordinating activities and a booth at the 2018 edition of the European Development Days (EDD 2018) (5 – 6 June, Brussels), a meeting organised by the European Commission to gather key players in international development cooperation and to facilitate information and experience sharing to guide EU policies to combat poverty. At the EDD 2018, Interarts will showcase the role that culture plays in making women and girls fully active citizens in society in line with Goal 5 of the 2030 SDGs, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. Two highlighted projects will be: DECIDES, an umbrella programme which includes smaller projects ranging from gender based violence and domestic violence to security; and SouthMed WiA, which promotes gender equality in the audiovisual sector in the Southern Mediterranean region. At this year’s event, Interarts will also co-organise a Brainstorming Lab session (5 June), titled ‘Culture for development: Women as agents of change’, and a Special Event (6 June): ‘Cultural Heritage and Creativity through Women’s Lens’. We hope that you too will attend EDD 2018 and look forward to welcome you at our stand (No. 81). #Interarts4Women.
