The project SouthMed WiA organizes a meeting in Alicante, Spain, on 27-28 September 2018, featuring the representatives of the sub-granted projects of the second call. The event will be hosted by Casa Mediterráneo, a cultural foundation which promotes mutual knowledge and exchanges between Spain and the other Mediterranean countries. The sub-grantees will attend a 2-day interactive training on monitoring and evaluation and access to film festivals, distribution and dissemination of audio-visual products with a gender perspective. The event will close with a public session during which a panel of Mediterranean experts (such as the producers and movie directors Dima Al Joundi and Pilar Perez Solano, and the professor of audio-visual anthropology José Vidal), will debate and exchange with the audience on the topic “Challenging gender inequality in the audiovisual sector in the Mediterranean”. The intervention of Maria Such i Palomares, General Director of the Valencian Regional Institute for women and gender equality, will close the public session.
This event will also be an interesting opportunity for networking between the two shores of the Mediterranean.
SouthMed WiA is a project co-funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium led by Interarts, that aims at strengthening the capacities of local stakeholders to contribute to sustainable development and cultural diversity by enhancing the image and the participation of women in the audio-visual and film sectors.
