In the framework of the European Year on Intercultural Dialogue, this event entitled Confluences: International Conference on Diversity and Intercultural Dialogue was held in Panticosa (Huesca, Spain) on 23-25 July. The conference took place on the occasion of the 17th Pirineos Sur International Festival of Cultures.

Over three days, it gathered approximately 70 participants from Europe, Africa and Latin America, who presented their experiences and discussed the meaning of intercultural dialogue and the implications of cultural diversity and dialogue in a series of specific fields in social, cultural, economic and political life.

Confluences was designed by the Interarts Foundation in cooperation with the Spanish Ministry of Culture and supported by the European Commission, the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Regional Government of Aragon, the County Council of Huesca and the Panticosa Town Council.

A full report of the discussions and conclusions will be available in October 2008. A short summary of the sessions is already available below.
