After an initial phase during which, by means of a participative process, the necessary documentation for guiding public policies related to sexual and reproductive health in Bolivia (SRH) to the cultural elements in relation to SRH was prepared, the second phase in this project, developed by Interarts together with its local partner Family Care International-Bolivia, launches the operational phase by putting into practice the information and results generated previously: the Framework Document on Cultural Rights and Sexual and Reproductive Health and the systematic organisation of bibliographic information on indigenous peoples' SRH with a specific focus on the intercultural dimension. This process is reinforced by organising a range of training workshops and presentations with health providers, awareness-raising activities and working meetings with local and national authorities The project, which is supported by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID), also involves dissemination and awareness-raising activities among a larger public, on the cultural instruments used in the first phase: informative panels, bibliographical indexes on SRH among indigenous people, etc.
In early April 2009, Interarts made a field visit to La Paz in order to monitor the project and have a direct contact with the local partner and other related entities, such as UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund).
In December 2009 this phase of the project was concluded, which also provided elements to support the strengthening of the National Indigenous Health Council and the board of the CNAMIB (National Confederation of Indigenous Women in Bolivia).
