The study seeks to analyse the various reflections and approaches that the European states with greatest tradition in the field of international immigration have applied based on cultural and policy management, with the aim of identifying models that can be useful in the context of Catalonia and Spain. In this framework visits have been made to France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Sweden for the preparation of an analysis report. Moreover, in November 2006 an international seminar was organised with the presentation of experiences and debate. A second phase planned to analyse the already existing practices in Catalonia and Spain and identify needs in the area. The project has the support of the Department of Culture of the Government of Catalonia and the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
